MS-8p
OST 38.01163-78
The petroleum-based MS-8p aircraft oil with a highly efficient additives package is a blend of Siberian and Uralian oils. This oil substituted the formerly used MK-8 and MK-8p oils and by far surpasses them with regard to a number of performance criteria, particularly, with regard to viscosity at low temperatures, thermal-oxidative stability and service life.
The MS-8p aircraft oil is used in gas-turbine engines of subsonic and supersonic aircraft (Il-62, Il-76, Il-86, Tu-134, Tu-154 and Yak-40 civil aviation aircraft, MiG-21, Su-15 and Su-25 military aircraft and Mi-6 and Mi-7 helicopters), whose oil temperature at the engine outlet does not exceed 150°C.
MS-8p is also used in compound oil mixtures for turbo-propeller engines (An-12, An-30, An-32 and Il-18 aircraft), and as a conserving agent for the aircraft engine oiling systems. Besides, MS-8p is used in marine (ship), gas-compressor plant and power plant gas-turbine engines.
